![]() Think outside the box when it comes to tuning, you may well turn up a nice little motor package that has quite a punch. GSXR oilcooled camshafts are another thought, you may be able to chop cylinders 1 and 4 off them, and fit them into your motor. ![]() Have a look at DR350 pistons you may be able to slot a pair of those in there and liven things up a bit. I've another one of my motor builds in the new issue of Streetfighters mag out in a few days, I had another in there in the Feb issue which was a complete "one off motor build" I've built several "one off" hybrid motors and with some careful scouring of the parts fiches and some lateral thinking, there's lots of options. I would have thought that pistons from another model should be able to be grafted in. Failing that look into a big bore on the motor. If you want a bit more or get fed up of bottles running out at inconvinient times, then look at fitting a small turbocharger on it. It made the most power on regular gas with +6* timing, even mid-grade with +8 degrees made less.If you want a performance gain, chuck a small shot of nitrous on it, a 50bhp shot will give you a good kick in the arse. ![]() it rode fine and felt just as fast but it made less power on the dyno. I settled on +6* with colder plugs and 13:1afr, but im sure with alittle more fuel I could add another degree or two for another 1/2whp.Īnd finally with stock internals, the gs just didnt like mid-grade or premium gas. plus more power everywhere else and smoother idle/low-rpm-riding and a small MPG increase. and the bottom line was, on regular gas with V&H exhaust, lunchbox, and carbs already dynotuned, +5* is safe and gives around 2whp at peak(9800ish rpms)and over 3whp above 10000rpm. The Vance & Hines Ignition Advancer is one of the best and cheapest performance mods you can make to the GS500e as it is easy to install and makes a. I actually dyno tuned mine last summer with varying amounts of timing. grind holes in the plate so the plate can be rotated 5* (4mm aprox.) counter-clockwise I do know it was a simple hardware change though so nothing fancy. No idea but there unavailable now anyway. What did the old vance and hines advancer do? Quote from: gregvhen on February 07, 2010, 12:20:16 PM ![]()
